Tuberose Concrete & Absolute
Polianthes tuberosa
Botanical Name: Polianthes tuberosa
Benefits and Uses: Muscular Spasm, Insomnia, Nervousness, Restlessness, Irritability, Anxiety, Depression
Tuberose is a unique and exotic flower, known for its delicate yet captivating fragrance. In the world of perfumery, no note is more sensual, creamy, or paradoxical than that of the tuberose. The multi-petaled bloom offers a blend of fresh florist shop aroma and rich opulence. Despite its name, Polianthes tuberosa shares no botanical or olfactory connection with roses.
It does, however, exhibit intriguing aspects of camphor at the onset, dewy mushroom and earth when in full bloom, and a scent reminiscent of decay and raw meat as it browns. The natural blossoms are so potent that they can permeate a room and retain their scent for days after being picked. This is why tuberose is highly coveted for its scent. The production of 200 g of Tuberose Absolute requires over 1200 kg of buds, making tuberose one of the most costly natural materials to use.
Tuberose Concrete is derived from the solvent extraction of fresh Polianthes Tuberosa L. flowers. This is further processed via solvent extraction to produce Tuberose Absolute, a potent modifier in floral accords that pairs exceptionally well with other exotic floral scents such as jasmine sambac and frangipani.
Tuberose Absolute can be useful in promoting assertiveness, confidence, performance, self-esteem and self-image.
